Here is the final cover for sale. As with the first one it was painted for an ebook but never used, so now I'm offering it up.

THE SPEAR OF DESTINY

Here is a piece of cover art I finished recently. It was for the book THE SPEAR OF DESTINY by Jason E. Thummel.

Investigator Lance Chambers takes the unbelievable cases. The ones that involve magic, the supernatural, and things that go bump in the night. It's not an easy job, but it pays the bills. And since most people don't believe in that sort of "mumbo-jumbo" there isn't much competition for business...which never hurts.

But when there isn't any business at all, it doesn't really help that much either.

So when Lance is offered what appears to be a simple missing persons case, he leaps at the chance. But what he finds in the zombie-infested jungles of South America is anything but a simple case, and he's soon to learn that the old adage about looking before you leap makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Unfortunately for Lance, it's already too late.

Web Of Horror

Web Of Horror was published by Major Publications (also publishers of Cracked and a host of men’s adventure magazines) and was the first serious rival to the Warren black and white line of the 1960s.  It showcased many young professionals who would soon rise to prominence in the 1970s and, for that alone, should be remembered. Jeff Jones, berni Wrightson, Michael Kaluta, Frank Brunner, Bruce Jones to name just a few

The magazine only lasted four issues.

REVERSE UTOPIAS

Here is the second piece of cover art I have done for author C. J. Burch. The collection Reverse Utopias features four novellas set in a dystopian future and featuring one of his great characters, genetically enhance bounty hunter Angie Dupree. Dupree has appeared in several stories by Burch including  One Man's Trash which was featured in Dark Worlds Magazine #2.

GLEN ORBIK

Here's an artist that I discovered recently. I had seen many of his covers and liked them a lot without knowing who the artist was until I stumbled on his website.

Orbik was a student of illustrator Fred Fixler, a highly skilled illustrator best known for painting movie posters and elegant pretty girls:

Fred had been a student of Frank Reilly and Robert Beverly Hale at the Art Students' League (along with fellow classmates James Bama, among others). After a Fixler retired, Orbik took over teaching many of his classes.
Orbik has painted covers for comic books and mass-market paperbacks and hardcovers. He works in the traditional (non digital) style, the same tradition as many of the old pulp cover artists.
