Let the mash-up parody posters begin!
And you know this means that Princess Leia is now one of the Disney Princesses...
OH SNAP! How did I not think of that?!
I guess I was more stuck on how the prequels could be injected with even more kid appeal and goofy sidekicks.
Does this mean he can't 'tinker' with the movies anymore and mabye make something new like he did with Clone Wars. I keep hearing of a live action series set in the Star Wars Universe - maybe this will happen. Leia as a Disney Princess...that just seems...correct.
Enjoy retirement, George. Wish I had your nest egg.
George retiring seems, well, overdue. His vice grip on creative control of the prequels showed that much. I sincerely hope he will enjoy his retirement.
Disney will almost certainly do something new to establish their hand with such a lucrative and recognizable brand. I know theres been a live action show in development hell for years and Disney has access to a prime-time network like ABC to distribute it, so I'm interested in seeing what comes of this.
Disney has already announced that they're making three new Star Wars movies starting in 2015.
They also own Indiana Jones.
I can't imagine that Disney could do anything worse than the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
I'd love to see an Indy prequel with a new director and a younger Indy -- an actor who is at least as young as Ford was when he made Raiders -- lower budget, no CGI -- all floor effects and stunts. Just like the first one.
That would be cool.
I actually think Indy might be suited for the small screen more than Star Wars. We already had the Young Indiana Jones Adventure Series, plus I'm burned out on Lucasfilm prequels. I think an animated series would be ideal for traveling to exotic locations in vast ruins.
This guy seems ready for the challenge.

Hmm. That guy seemed prepared for Disney to buy Lucasfilm even if no one else was.
