FROM MY COLLECTION OF PULP
This pulp magazine is one of my collection. Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge Doc Savage Fan. I do not have as many Doc Savage pulps as I would like, but this one is one of my favourites.
I've been here and there. I've drawn a lot of pictures. I've written a bit, too. I'm not good at this self-promotion thing. Look, you want to know about me? just visit these websites. Okay?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY G.W.!
It is the Summer Solstice today, a day that has been celebrated by druids since time immemorial. It is also the birthday of a good friend who I have known a long time. Not as long as the druids who celebrated the solstice, but pretty long.
G.W. Thomas has been a writer and an artist for many years and through the years we have collaborated on many projects, the latest of which is Dark Worlds Magazine.
So in honour of the summer solstice and his birthday I wish him many happy returns and urge you to visit him his blog (http://darkworlds21.blogspot.com/) or just toodle around his website (http://www.gwthomas.org/).
Happy Birthday, G.W.!
I've been here and there. I've drawn a lot of pictures. I've written a bit, too. I'm not good at this self-promotion thing. Look, you want to know about me? just visit these websites. Okay?

THE WIFE'S NEW AVATAR
My wife asked me to come up with a new avatar for her. "Make me look like a Dragon Woman or something else really cool," she said.
Well, I could never make her look like a hideous dragon woman so this is what I came up with. I think she likes it.

ROBIN, THE GIRL WONDER
A while ago Cal over at the Canadian Cave of Cool thought that we needed a new female robin. I had to agree and. since there wasn't one around I had to come up with one.
On another note, my other personality, Jack Mackenzie, is writing. He is contractually obligated to write a story for an upcoming anthology and he finds my blogging and commenting on other folks' blogs distracting.
So If I am unusually quiet in the next two or three weeks, blame Jack.
UPDATE: Despite Jack's insistence to the contrary I have made updates to this image. I re-inked it using ink pen rather than Photoshop and then I took it into Painter. I like the results much better.

JEANNE ROBINSON: 1948 - 2010
Jeanne Robinson passed away on March 31. She had been battling cancer for a while and finally succumbed.
Jeanne was a dancer, choreographer and writer and founder of Nova Scotia's first professional modern dance company. She was also the wife of author Spider Robinson and co-wrote the novels STARDANCE, STARSEED and STARMIND with him. STARDANCE is being made into a feature film at the moment.
I knew Spider and Jeanne back when I lived in Vancouver. Not well, but I met them often enough to know that Jeanne was a wonderful woman. She was open and friendly, talented and funny.
She was training to be a Zen Buddhist priest, so I know that she faced the end of her life with a calm grace and dignity. Nevertheless I was profoundly saddened to hear of her passing. She was one of the best.
My heart goes out to Spider and to the rest of the family.
Where I live this weekend there is an event sponsored by the BC Cancer Society. We will be lighting a candle at that event in memory of Jeanne.
I've been here and there. I've drawn a lot of pictures. I've written a bit, too. I'm not good at this self-promotion thing. Look, you want to know about me? just visit these websites. Okay?
