ICE CREAM - WIP

Not sure where this is going but I started on it yesterday. I'd like to work more on it but I have another two commissions ahead of it and an article to write before tomorrow.

So here it is so far. It's not the whole picture. The rest is NSFW, but I will show that eventually.

What do you think so far?

I've been here and there. I've drawn a lot of pictures. I've written a bit, too. I'm not good at this self-promotion thing. Look, you want to know about me? just visit these websites. Okay?

Even though this is just a sample I like were this is going. Theres something attractive in the simplicity of just a background, a flesh tone and the white of the ice cream. The shading is so slight that theres nothing distracting from her face, which is very well done I might add. (Is she based on someone I should know? , theres something familiar about her) Great rendering on the hair. The expression is a winner too. Theres surprise and intrique in her eyes as well as flirtatiousness.

I don't think we need to see that much of her teeth. Perhaps instead you could have a dab of ice cream on her upper lip. Actually, its surprising that given this is a pin up that involves ice cream, I would have expected there to be some drip down her fingers or on her chest and other curvy body parts. Using the bright white to draw the eye through the rest of the piece, that sort of thing.

Theres something very old school about the way this is developing, like something out of the '70s, I dunno. I'd say I'm eager to see were this is going, up I'm kind of satisfied with what I've seeing so far and don't want it to be "ruined" by being over rendered.

I dig, you've got a good thing going on here.

Oh, don't worry, Erik. The Ice Cream is gonna melt and it will drip everywhere!

Thanks for the encouraging comments. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back to this, but I'm eager to see how it's gonna turn out, too!

That is pretty sweet the way it looks now.
