I just had to reblog this. I saw this over at Cal's blog and had to find out who the artist is. The guy who did this was Abraão Lucas and he is a professional digital artist.
This is the most amazing portrait of Supergirl I have ever seen. Cal made a point about tan lines (would Supergirl have them?) and that has lead into a very interesting discussion about Kryptonian physiology.
Some of you oldster's may remember Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex, an article by Larry Niven, which outlines the difficulties that Superman would have engaging in conjugal relations with mere mortals. You can read the entire article here.

All that aside, I just love this painting. I love the casual attitude, the feeling of weightlessness... even the tanlines. Brava, Abraão! Brava!

That's a lovely piece of... artwork :-)
Not sure about the tan-lines, though...
BTW Thanks for the link to Man Of Steel, Woman Of Kleenex. I've read about Niven's theories for years, but never actually read the article. Very funny :-)
Cerebus: No prob. I read it years ago and was surprised to find it so easily on the net.
As for the tan lines... See, me... I think the tan lines are hot. As to whether they are appropriate given a Kryptonian's physiological relationship with our yellow sun...
yeah... whatever. They're hot.
I hope it wasn't hard for you to find the artist. I only list the artist if it's a single image post of their work.
'Twas ridiculously easy. Simply googled 'Supergirl tan lines' and I got it on the first hit.
